What Is Life Coaching?

1.
A life coach is a trained professional that helps you maximise your full potential and reach your desired goals, which could span from professional to personal in nature.
2.
Life coaching differs from consulting, mentoring or counselling in that the coach will not give advice. Instead, the coach partners with the client to help them find their own answers.
3.
The proverb that I think best describes life coaching: “give someone a fish and you feed them for a day; teach someone to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.” It is the coach’s role to make themselves redundant in the process!

When Should I See A Life Coach?
A life coach can help if you feel lost, unfulfilled, fearful or unfocused. I have partnered with clients to help them to overcome anxiety, achieve a career goal, understand why they are unhappy, take up a hobby, prioritise their health, end a relationship, start a relationship, among other topics. As the client, you lead the conversation. As the coach, I will follow.

How Will A Life Coach Work With Me?
The relationship between a client and their life coach is a creative partnership that seeks to:
Identify, define and build a vision for what the client wants.
Evoke awareness and encourage the client’s growth and self-discovery.
Cultivate an action plan based on the client’s goals and personal circumstances.
Champion client accountability to increase productivity.
